Description:: Guest: Cheri Rosser
Native to the San Fernando valley, I grew up with my mom and my three sisters. The identity of being female was always a central aspect of my identity. I studied psychology in college and graduated from CSUN in 2011. I was always interested in the bigger picture and the social and political constructs surrounding the female experience. Being interested in the natural world, after college, I spent a year exploring natural medicine, nutrition and various healing modalities. I then returned to graduate school and earned my M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University Los Angeles in 2016. During that time, I completed my clinical traineeship at Strength United where I focused on working with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Now, at the beginning of my career, I am working as the Domestic Violence Case Manager and MFT Intern at Tarzana Treatment Center. As a new contract, I have the opportunity to develop the program, provide clinical services, facilitate groups and teach domestic violence advocacy trainings to new counselors. In the future, I intend to dedicate my career to working from a feminist perspective to empower women and girls.
