Chapter 34, Here Is the Finished Weapon
by SilavinNext comes something called weapon refinement.
Now that I think about it, the weapon I have hasn’t really changed much.
“I get this much just from combining cards twice!?”
“Got it! Then let’s go with that.”
AI Miria recommends it, so I decide to give it a try. I’m kind of excited!
Then a new kind of animation starts, different from before. Suddenly, a huge pot-like thing floats up, and the club and magic stones go into it.
…Huh? Since it’s called weapon refinement, I thought it would be something like clanging and hammering to forge it, but it’s totally different.
After a bubbling, simmering motion, the lid pops open and the weapon jumps out with a poof!
“Whoa! This is kind of fun.”
Since it’s called refinement, I thought the weapon would stay the same with just some added effects, but I was wrong. The weapon itself changes!
======
Demolition Stick
Attack Power: 50
A mysterious club that always lands a critical hit when it hits.
Its flaw is that it rarely hits.
Durable and long-lasting.
======
“Critical hits ignore defense and deal damage directly, right? Sounds pretty strong!”
“I’m in! Let’s see…”
This is seriously fun for me. I happen to have an iron spear, so I want to enhance that too.
“This spear!”
Once again, everything pops into the pot. After simmering for ten seconds, the spear bursts out, sparkling.
======
Mystic Spear
Attack Power: 72
A white shining spear. Deals +15% damage to undead types.
Recovers health at regular intervals.
Durability is average. Can also be used as a light source.
======
“This looks super useful! Oh no, I think I’m getting hooked. I want to do a bit more. Okay, next let’s go with this steel sword. But it’s almost broken.”
It’s the sword that helped me out at the start of dungeon exploration, but it’s cracked badly and on the verge of breaking. I’m thinking I should probably stop using it, when Miria tells me something unexpected.
“That’s insanely convenient. Please do.”
Plop! The steel sword goes into the pot, and this time a bunch of red magic stones are added.
“The animation feels a bit different.”
As it simmers, the pot starts spinning. Then, the moment the lid opens, the weapon bursts out with a sparkling light.
======
Great Flame Sword
Attack Power: 128
When used, the blade becomes engulfed in flames.
Extremely sharp and hard to break.
======
“This is amazing! I’ll use it next.”
Oh right, I got a rapier from a login bonus the other day. I thought it was useless and benched it.
“Alright, go ahead!”
“Huh? That many? Isn’t that a waste?”
“I see. Then let’s try it.”
Once again, the weapon and magic stones are tossed into the pot. The animation this time feels just as flashy as before; let’s see what happens.
When it pops out, it’s changed into a slightly longer sword rather than a rapier.
======
Mach Sword
Attack Power: 36
When held, the sword seemed to be able to be swung at Mach speed. Allows one to multiple attacks.
Durability is on the sturdy side.
======
“Oh? The attack power is low, but it looks usable?”
“Ah, uh… I think I’ll just collect them bit by bit.”
I have a feeling I’ll get buried under a mountain again, so I’ll skip the bulk claim for now.
It drops gently onto the table, and its design is different from the one for the Evolution Cave I entered before.
It’s a huge key that feels heavy and solid. It’s at least twice the size of my apartment key, and it looks like it’s made of gold.
“This feels way fancier than before.”
“Let’s do it! That would help a lot. Seriously, Miria, you’re the best! Thanks.”
<…………>
“Huh? What’s wrong?”
<…No, you’re welcome.>
Her voice sounded a little shrill for a moment; what was that about?
Anyway, I decide to take on the next special dungeon as soon as I can. I think I’m really getting into this!
